Meet André
André joined the team in February 2021 and has over 15 years of experience working as an osteopath and academic lecturer in New Zealand, the UK and Australia.
He works within all scopes of practice, including paediatrics, pregnancy, and adults, and has developed a wide range of interests. He uses a wide variety of approaches including advice around lifestyle and works with structural, visceral and cranial techniques as appropriate or necessary for what you may be presenting with.
Before coming on board full-time at Mangawhai Osteopathy, André was also lecturing on the osteopathy programme at Unitec. He has taught at the University College of Osteopathy (formerly the British School of Osteopathy), and Southern Cross University in New South Wales and Queensland.
Over the years he has taught in the areas of pain science, clinical pathology, and the theory and practice of osteopathy, as well as having been a research supervisor, clinical educator and running a student clinic in the Gold Coast.
Andre is particularly interested in how all aspects of who we are might contribute to the issues of pain and dysfunction that our clients present to us. Osteopathy for him is about figuring out what areas of your life are contributing to the issues that you are coming in with, and either working with them directly or helping you find the appropriate care if the issue lies outside of the osteopathic scope of practice.
André currently lives in Matakana with his wife and 2 young sons, is a keen surfer, enjoys keeping fit, meditation, reading, listening to a variety of podcasts and audiobooks and spending time with family and friends.
André is available Mon, Wed, Thu & Fridays.
All practitioners have regular Police Checks. Most recent in June 2022.
