At our clinic, we’re embarking on a new journey to better support you. As part of our commitment to providing the best care possible, we’re starting a Trauma-Informed Course, “Essentials of Trauma Therapy,” to deepen our understanding and enhance the ways we help you heal.
For me, this course brings things full circle. Back in 1994, I completed a degree in Psychology (Behavioural Science). At the time, I was young and enjoying university life, but that three-year degree has proven invaluable in my later years as an osteopath. I went on to teach aerobics and work in gyms. Who would have thought I’d need this knowledge now as a holistic practitioner!
Listening to patients and understanding their complex histories has always fascinated me. It’s something I believe is my superpower—being present and truly hearing your story. While I may not always have all the answers, I know that the first step is meeting you where you are, with empathy and an open heart. Working with children has taught me that.
At our clinic, we’ve worked hard to build a team of exceptional practitioners, both on-site and remotely, to offer a multi-disciplinary approach to your care. If we can’t help directly, we strive to connect you with someone who can.
The rule I live by: you don’t have to have gone to an Ivy League University to be an incredible practitioner, but you do need both a clever brain and a compassionate heart. One without the other just won’t do.
As a team, we’re excited to grow through this continuing education course. It’s my hope that through this training, we’ll add even more value to our wonderful Mangawhai community and beyond.
Your wellbeing is always at the heart of everything we do. I mean it.
With love and kindness,
Jacquelyn
